 WHAT DO WE DO ?
The prime motivation for the Dolphins is to give time in the water in safe surroundings to teach survival techniques from the basic "I've fallen in - now what do I do ?" up to the Amateur Swimming Association Personal Survival awards.

The Dolphins also offer a wide range of other A.S.A. awards leading up to the "Complete Swimmer" award. All teaching sessions take place at the Knights Templar School Pool, however many of the advanced awards are taken in full-size pools.

 Personal Survival awards

National Swim awards to level 12

 Distance Awards (also at AquaSplash)

Diving awards (taken at Taunton St James Street)

Challenge awards - Silver and Gold (taken at Aquasplash)

Speed swimming awards in all strokes (taken at AquaSplash)

Many Dolphins go on to achieve further success with local Swimming Clubs

DO I HAVE TO BE A GOOD SWIMMER ?
Not to start with ! Sessions are available for all abilities from non-swimmer to experienced swimmer; the majority are between 5 and 12 years old.

.

WHEN DO WE DO IT ?  -  See Sessions
Early evening every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the year.   All holidays included but with a short break over the Christmas period.

.

HOW DO WE DO IT ?
Jim is an A.S.A. qualified teacher who is beginning to feel old since "the little girl he taught to swim became a grandmother".

All groups are graded according to ability rather than age. Two lessons a week are recommended for the best progress.

Although standards in the top groups are very high, lessons are intended to be fun on the basis that if the child doesn't want to get in the water then Jim can't teach !

,

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ?
each session remains at £3.00 and includes the cost of Awards and Pool Hire. Subsidised special hire sessions in AquaSplash are charged at £3.00 per hour.

.

 HOW DO I JOIN ?
the Dolphins Groups are open to all - we try to avoid waiting lists but Groups tend to be very large. Sundays are relatively quiet and there are generally fewer in the water.

Just speak to Jim on the poolside or (much better) -------->>>>>  e-mail me
