A number of new faces are arriving and it is always pleasant to receive a new child - at any level of achievement. We believe every child has the right to learn and become safe in water and whilst we continue to be honoured by the enthusiasm and skills of a number of very able "high flyers" who compete at Club, County and even National level, the majority are here to learn to swim in safe surroundings.

The Swimathon is now behind us - but the outstanding performances by every Dolphin who took part will not be forgotten. No less than 76 swimmers swam over 19 miles this year - as well as for their own school and club teams. Every swimmer was a credit to the Dolphins so many thanks go to those who took part unobtrusively and successfully and swam so well to raise money for Charity and for our pool. Please return any sponsorship money to me as soon as possible - or let me know if you are not collecting.

All the time, passes are being obtained in the National Swim awards and in many other ASA awards; each one representing a personal achievement.

For many years, swimmers who are ready have been entered in distance and challenge awards at Aquasplash and of course our diving instruction carries on most weeks in Taunton as before. Dolphins can come to St James Street any Saturday at 11.00am for a play or practice - but please speak with me first !

It is a measure of the success of the Dolphins that many groups are very large; I can only say "sorry" - but there simply is no more time available in the pool.

Once again, "Well Done" to all the swimmers, and a very special "Thank You" to parents for your excellent support throughout the year. Without your help and encouragement there would be no Dolphins.
