The Dolphins teach and test the ASA . The twelve awards help to ensure
that learning is progressive and broadly based. Although it is only necessary to pass eight of the ten
tests in each award, the Dolphins mark each skill out of 10. This gives a better overall view of
the skill of the swimmer.
The challenge the
pupil to achieve targets for which they need an efficient performance using a wide range of skills, speed
and stamina.
The safely is an
essential and enjoyable skill that must be carried out in a deep water pool. We have used the Taunton
St James' Street Pool for many years to test for basic diving skills,not
including the Competitive Start Award.
The NEW National Swim Awards will be replacing the National Swim Awards in January 2008. These awards equip candidates with a wide range
of skills preparatory to moving on to a competitive Swimming Club.
