The Dolphins teach and test the ASA  National Swim Awards .  The twelve awards help to ensure that learning is progressive and broadly based.  Although it is only necessary to pass eight of the ten tests in each award, the Dolphins mark each skill out of 10.   This gives a better overall view of the skill of the swimmer.

The  Challenge Awards  challenge the pupil to achieve targets for which they need an efficient performance using a wide range of skills, speed and stamina.

The  ability to Dive  safely is an essential and enjoyable skill that must be carried out in a deep water pool.  We have used the Taunton St James' Street Pool for many years to test for basic diving skills, not including the Competitive Start Award.

The  NEW National Swim Awards  will be replacing the National Swim Awards in January 2008.  These awards equip candidates with a wide range of skills preparatory to moving on to a competitive Swimming Club.

The ultimate for a young swimmer is to achieve the  Complete Swimmer  award, which is
achieved only by completing six ASA awards to a very high standard
Whether a beginner or a top performer - remember that
